Shanghai Notions Market
The other day, during yet another strange and pointless Chinese mid-week holiday… I paid a visit to the Shanghai Notions Market/ Embellishment Market to see what it was all about… and I was completely overwhelmed! They had everything you could ever think of in terms of embellishment. I walked around aimlessly trying to wrack my brains for what I actually needed rather than wanted.

Eastern Adventures
It has been sooo long since I have blogged and I have missed it! Since the last time I posted I have packed my bags and ventured East to the land of pandas, chopsticks and bad hygiene habits. I’m in China!! Although I have been enjoying my time here, interning, partying, eating, culture-absorbing, I am sad because I have no resources to continue with my crafty passion. I don’t have an...

Two-tier Ribbon Cake
I made this birthday cake for my brother’s 18th birthday! It took a while but it is definitely worth the time and effort. I made the top tier red velvet chocolate cake and the bottom a Victoria sponge cake so as to not have too much of the same flavour!! If you want to make a special cake for a loved one then this is definitely a good choice!
I got the recipie from here to make the...

Little Bow Cupcakes
Something I definitely want on a cold rainy day is a nice hot cup of tea, a yummy homemade cake and a hunky man to warm me up. Fortunately 2 of those things are easily provided and I can offer a how-to for the second one! The third one… well Channing Tatum on the tv and a radiator will have to do for that!
So these are lovely little bow cupcakes… I made a larger one for my brothers...

Magnetic Memo Board
So I recently made this memo board for my house as we often have bits of paper, vouchers, letter, receipts lying around! You can get a really good tutorial here:
http://www.noodle-head.com/2010/05/mail-organizer-tutorial.html
I changed mine by just putting one mail slot on and adding metal onto the back so that I could attach things using magnets. But the basics of how to make are on that...

Banana Breakfast Loaf
So I am not really a breakfast person at least not early in the morning anyway! I am more of an elevenses girl! I love breakfast loafs and muffins so I decided to make a relatively healthy(ish) banana bread that I can eat with a cuppa in the morning! Instead of making a large loaf, I decided to make mini ones so that they will stay a little fresher and look a little cuter :D. They are good for...

Swan Thankyou Card
I made this card for my Nana to say thank you. I did a Swan because they remind me of her and when I was a little girl at Windemere where Swans are abundant. We have a video of me and my nan holding hands on the boat pier and whenever Swans came near me I was screaming and run around, and embarrasingly drawing the attention of everyone around… yes I was that child.
Anyway I made the swan...

Birthday!
I recently celebrated my 22nd birthday… AIYA! Time goes so quickly! But I am excited as it is a new stage of my life and I know I have many more exciting times ahead! I had a lovely day with my family in London, we ate dim sum at Ping Pong and saw Sweeney Todd at the Adelphi. Then on the weekend I went over to my best friend Hayley’s house for what I thought was just a little dinner...

You've Passed!
I made this cute little card for an equally cute little friend Lucy because she passed her driving test yay!! I bought some plain cards from the works and sewed on little triangular pieces of scrap fabric. Then drew the little panda in its state of the art car.
Well done Lucy! xxx

I decided to make more lavender bags as the plant is overtaking the garden. I have cut some every day and picked off the lavender into a jar so that it will stay fresh and I can use whenever I need to:
I made them smaller this time aswell so they can hang in a car or...

Lavender Bags
Yesterday I made a cute lavender bag out of some lavender that’s growing in my garden. My Nana picked some and put them in a vase for the house and suggested that once it had dried out a bit I should make some… so I did! It was so simple to do and took me hardly any time at all, so if you have some lavender in your garden pick some and have a go. I hung mine in my wardrobe and so my...

New Fabric
I went to town today to have a little gander around the charity shops. I always like to look put for new material and other haberdashery bits. Today I have some bags of buttons and bows for 25p and a cute little porcelain ring box with birds on. I also popped into a haberdashery shop and saw they were selling odd bits of material for 50p so I bought a load to make some bunting and whatever else...

Plaited Heart Bracelet
I was inspired to make this bracelet after seeing a wire heart bracelet tutorial on pinterest so I decided to put my own twist on it by making the heart a clasp and literally adding a twisted braid.
So without further adieu, this is how you make it!
What you need:
1. To start off I made the braid, this is really easy to do, just crimp together three threads of cord and and attach a calotte and...

Mosaic Twist Necklace
So whilst I am stuck to the television watching the Olympics, I decided to use my inherent feminine skill of multitasking to make a new necklace. I have been wearing quite a bit of white recently so I love the boldness of the blues and blacks.
Its pretty simple to make and didn’t take me too long (I paused a few times to scream ‘COME ON TEAM GB!!’ a few times so it probably...

Auntie Fiona's Patchwork Quilt
I have been collecting together some bits of fabric from charity shops and any bits I can find lying round the house so I can make a lovely patchwork quilt like this one that my Auntie made. Its in her house on the guest bed and its so pretty! I think its going to take me quite a while though…. so I won’t be posting my creation any time soon! But I am glad to have some inspiration!!

Macaroons
I have just got back from beautiful and picaresque Nerja in the south of Spain after a week of sun lounging, sangria and bbqs. I don’t exactly tan easily but came back with a fair few freckles! Anyway after a week off of baking and crafting I decided to make something I have always wanted to make but haven’t (for fear of it going wrong) and that is macaroons! They always look so cute...
